Hey everyone, have you not visited me in a while? Have you stopped seeing my daily posts? Well, I’m popping back here to just a reminder that I’ve moved over to a self-hosted site! Please come over to http://beetreestudios.com and make sure you’ve set up your new subscriptions so you don’t miss any more great posts!
Bee Tree Studios has moved! If you’re seeing this message, it means that you’ve subscribed to my blog which is great, but that also means that in order to continue receiving my updates, you will need to update your subscription! Please take a moment to visit me at my new home:
Redirects will be in place by the end of the week for all pages on this site so don’t worry if you find an old link somewhere, it will still take you to the article you want to see, hopefully! If you have any issues, please let me know either on my new site, Facebook or Twitter. As always…
Welcome to July my friends, and welcome to “Miscellaneous Monday”! This is the day where I throw anything, and everything into one, seemingly random, post. As it’s the first day of the month, it’s safe to assume that there will be plenty to share today. Lets see, four sales, a designer debuting in a new store, daily download freebies, two new releases and a few reminders! Remember, pictures are linked when possible to make it easier for you to find all these great products! Hold onto your hats, it’s time to jump right in!
First we’re going to start with the new releases. Scraps by Missy has her July Build-a-Kit (BAK) up at Stuff To Scrap. This kit is on sale from July 1st-8th for only $1 per component! That’s only $4 for the entire Scraps by Missy kit, a 50% savings! The theme of this month’s BAK is “My Favorite Things” of which Missy chose reading! I will admit here that I love to read, a lot, so this was a really fun kit to work with. I chose a picture from the Nemo Musical at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Do you remember that Dory can read the address on the diving mask? Can you remember what the address was without looking it up? With two little kids, you best believe I can remember that address! Here are the previews for Scraps by Missy’s BAK:
Here’s the layout I created with this kit, “P. Sherman”!

The other great release today from Scraps by Missy and the other great designers at Stuff To Scrap is the July Collaboration Kit “Moments That Matter“. Here’s her part and the entire bundle as well:

On to my next designer! Isn’t it great that the beginning of the month is jam packed with new releases and sales? I’m glad you think so too because M&M Designs has both as well! Lets start with her Facebook Freebie celebrating reaching 1,400 fans! Here’s a preview, the picture is linked to her Facebook page. Just click like and you’ll have access to this great freebie:
Also, M&M Designs is having a 40% off sale at her Gotta Pixel store this week in celebration of 4th of July! Who doesn’t love a sale, especially when it includes everything in the store! Check it out:
That’s a lot! Are you ready for more? Yes, MORE! ChrissyW Digital is now at Gotta Pixel too! You know what that means right? She’s having a 30% off Grand Opening Sale from July 1st-8th! Stop by and pick up some templates and a kit or two!
She also has a great new freebie up in her new store! The giving just keeps going right? You should go check out the freebie and take a look at the layout I was able to create with it:
The last thing I’d like to share is another sale (do you see a pattern for the beginning of a month?) this time the sale is at Inspiredbydominic Design’s new commercial use store over at CU Digitals from June 28th to July 7th!
I think you’ve made it through dear reader! The only other reminder I have is to check out yesterday’s post about how my lovely designer ChrissyW Digital is helping raise money for Habitat for Humanity Canada by geocaching! You can see their team page and donate to their cause right here:
That’s it folks, I’m glad you stuck around to the end! I’ll be back here tomorrow with Template Tuesday! Remember to leave a comment if there’s something you’d like to see in those posts, I’ll help you through it if possible! As always…
Hey everyone! I don’t normally post on Sunday’s but today is a special exception. I wanted to use every outlet I had to share a very unique way of raising money for Habitat For Humanity Canada. Now, I don’t live in Canada, and I usually post about wonderful crafty, artistic things. One of the designers I work for is “HabiCaching” with her family next weekend! If you don’t know much about Habitat For Humanity here is a quick summary:
Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste Marie and Area has been busy building homes and building hope since 2004. Lives have been changed, families are thriving, and the support of our community continues to inspire us. The work that we do – offering a hand up to affordable home ownership and breaking the cycle of poverty is import, and continues to have a positive impact in our community. – Habitat for Humanity Sault Ste Marie
I personally think Habitat For Humanity sounds like a wonderful organization. I’m incredibly excited to hear how this weekend goes for their family and for the community as a whole! If anyone is interested in in donating to their team or would just like some more information, check out their team site (photo is linked):
Welcome back! It’s “New Release Thursday” and I have a huge kit to share as well as a template set and sale! Remember, the images are linked to the products. Let’s jump in!
The first thing I want to share is a HUGE kit from Inspiredbydominic Designs over at Scrapbook Bytes. You must check out the superhero themed kit “Super Kid”, I have two young boys and this kit is just perfect for all the superhero play I get to capture with my camera! If you read Monday’s or Tuesday’s posts, you can see two of the layouts I created! Well folk, here’s the full preview of this kit (they are also available separately) plus some Photoshop styles if you’re so inclined:
Next up is a new template set from M&M Designs that will be on sale when it releases tomorrow July 28th!
Lastly, I wanted to let you know about the 40% off sale going on over at ChrissyW Digital’s store at TheDigiChick! It’s not one or two kits… it’s her ENTIRE store! The sale ends June 30th so go grab what you like now before the sale ends!
It’s a bit quiet this week in the new releases category but next week will be full with new releases, July freebies and Build-A-Kit’s (BAK’s) and more then likely a few fun announcements! Make sure to check back tomorrow for “Friday Fave’s”! As always…
Welcome! I hope everyone is having a great weekend! For the next five weeks or so, I’m going to be using Saturday’s to share a quick post about a fun competition I’m participation in at Stuff To Scrap Forum. Without further ado, welcome to “This Scrapper’s Got Talent (TSGT) Saturday”! Cue audience applause and lift the curtain!
This week’s challenge was to use the provided template and scrap “A Day In The Life”. Sounds simple right? Well, if you didn’t know, I’ve been on vacation for about a month, in Disney World. I don’t have many photos of my “typical day” which normally consists of cleaning up after kids, feeding kids and playing with kids. What I did have a lot of photos of was our trip to Disney. As I pondered my layout I realized the instructions didn’t say a typical day at home or a typical day from a certain month, so I figured it would be within the rules to scrap a typical day I had in May (which just so happened to be when we were in Disney). As there are no eleminations this week, I figured if I had broken bent the rules too far, I wasn’t in danger of being eliminated from the competition! The template I used was provided for us by Ponytails Designs:
The kit I ended up using the Summer Play Bundle by Inspiredbydominic Designs, but you can also pick it up in individual sets (I announced in this weeks Miscellaneous Monday that I’m now on Inspiredbydominic’s Creative Team).
This is the layout I came up with. If it looks different from the template it’s because I rotated it upside down!
I grabbed some pictures from a day that I really enjoyed and fit them into my template. The photos aren’t in any certain order. The top left was from our character breakfast that day, the top center is from the afternoon when we had pictures taken with Princess Tiana and Prince Navine, next to that is my oldest showing off his princess kiss. The middle row has a map of Fort Wilderness Campground where we stayed, my picture and user name and on the right is a picture from the new Fantasy Land area. It’s all circus themed and this is the new “Meet and Greet” area for Minnie, Daisy, Donald and Goofy. I will have to share some of those pictures because this area was incredibly detailed (even for Disney in my opinion)! The bottom row on the left has my title card, journal card and then the smaller cards show Tinkerbell on her Electric Light Parade float and the fireworks in the Magic Kingdom. Wow that’s a lot to fit into one layout! Our days weren’t always this full but this was one of the last days we were there so we were hitting up all the favorite things one last time before leaving. I had so much fun and I can’t wait to see what everyone else creates!
Each Saturday I’m going to share my layout for the week’s challenge. If you’d like to follow along, you can subscribe by email at the top of the page, follow me on Facebook or Twitter, and you can check out the Stuff to Scrap forum! There’s even an area where you can play along with us if you’d like!
Is anyone else participating or playing along? If you are, leave us a link where we can check out your layouts! If you’re not, consider playing along and stretch your creative muscles (you don’t need to complete each week)! As always…
Welcome to Miscellaneous Monday! Boy have I got a lot to share with you today! There’s a new release, a guest CT call for one of my designers, an online photo class, a new mini kit I’m excited about, an award acceptance and nominations, a few post line up changes, a link up and THREE amazing announcements to share… this might be a long post, you have been warned! But I hope you stick around for all of it!
First up I want to share my announcements with you, I’m proud to announce that I am now working on Polka Dot Pixels’ Creative Team, you can find her over at TheDigiChick. Do you remember the layout from this post where I used the school themed kit from Polka Dot Pixels? Aren’t her designs so unique? I just love the vintage feel of her kits, I don’t see great quality, vintage kits like that very often!
Next up I wanted to also share that I’m also working on InspiredByDominic Designs Creative Team (also known as the Inspiration Team and you can find her at Scrapbook Bytes)! InspiredByDominic Designs has some AMAZING styles that I absolutely adore! I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on with her GAB (Grab-A-Byte) “Summer Play” kit so come back Saturday to check that out!
My other exciting news is that I’m participating in Stuff To Scrap’s “This Scrapper’s Got Talent” contest! I’ve never participated in this type of contest before so I’m incredibly excited and extremely nervous about sharing my pages in this challenge! I will be sharing my layouts for that each Saturday of the contest, even if I get eliminated, I’m going to continue to play along!
Another change up that I’m working on implementing is Project Life Wednesdays. I’m going to start doing a post series dedicated to Project Life and his Wednesday I’ll be sharing my paper album. I used the new Blush kit and created a “My Life in Review” type of album so you’ll want to keep an eye out for those posts if you do Project Life or are interested in starting!
Lets get to a new release shall we? Today, M&M Designs released “Project Life Journal Cards V5” template. I created a layout documenting one of Disney’s Animal Kingdom “Lion King” shows we saw. At the beginning of the show, each section of the audience is taught an animal sound to “welcome” Simba and his friends into the theater. At this show we sat in the “Lion Section” and my oldest son was picked to show our group how to roar like a lion! He was over the moon and I think this layout really shows that! Take a look at the template pack (which is on sale for $2 for the set of 4, over at Gotta Pixel):
Template: Project Life Journal Cards V5 by M&M Designs
Kit: That’s Life (iNSD Collaboration Kit) by TheDigiChick
I also wanted to mention that M&M Designs is having a summer “Guest Creative Team” call. If you’re interested you can find all the information on Facebook or (hopefully soon) on her blog. It’s a great team to work with and she creates both pocket page and “traditional” templates that are so fun to work with!
Next on my “housecleaning” list is a new Photoshop class, Photo editing: Frame Ups and Effects 1, from Jessica Sprague. I’ve taken some of her other classes and I just love them (and I’m not compensated in any way for sharing this class or my thoughts about it!) I have some experience with Photoshop elements but even with the beginner classes, I learned a ton! It’s so easy to follow along with her videos and she repeats the steps, in a way that isn’t annoying, so that you really understand what to do and how to do it! She’s offering another free class. It’s a one week class but, if there are 10k sign ups, she will teach an additional week of classes for free! It’s all free so what could you lose by signing up and trying it out?
I’m also linking up this week over at “Plucky’s Second Thought”. This week is a link up of posts about DIY/Craft, tips, tricks, reviews, pretty much anything that’s not a giveaway or another link up! So if you have a blog, head over there and check out the link up, I always find new, interesting blogs to follow there!
Last, but by no mean least, I want to share that I was given the “Sunshine Award” by DaDivaDeals! This award has circulated around as a bit of a “digital high five” letting a blogger know their posts brighten your day! I’m so honored to receive this award especially since I’ve only been posting this blog for about two weeks! I can’t believe so many of you enjoy stopping by my little corner of the internet already! I really do appreciate all of you!
Here are the rules for accepting the nomination:
-Include award logo in a post or on your blog (see above)
-Link to the person who nominated you – DaDivaDeals
-Answer 10 questions about yourself (see below!)
-Nominate 10 bloggers (Check out the fun card I created for my nominations)
I wasn’t asked any so I won’t make you answer any either, I will be posting some about me tid-bits on my Facebook Page today so if you’re interested, stop by and “like” my page so you get updates when I post there!
My goodness! Everyone still here with me? I know this was a long post without many exciting pictures but as this is “Miscellaneous Monday” and I never know how long or short my posts will be Mondays! Thanks for sticking with me and as always…
